Our Mission
The International Civilization Award mission is to identify, institutionalise, and accelerate exceptional contributions that advance human progress.
Civilization advances through those who expand what humanity can achieve. Progress is created with collective advancement through scientific discovery, social leadership, artistic expression, diplomacy, and humanitarian action. With this thesis, The Civilization Award is created by Commonance Capital, a British venture capital firm, and International Science Federation, a global science organisation.
The Prize
Each year, three contributions will be selected and their recipients will be awarded The Civilization Award. They are titled and honoured as Civilization Laureates in recognition of their outstanding contributions.
In addition to the certificate and medal, each Civilization Laureate receives access to acceleration support.

Accelerator Program
Winning The Civilization Award provides Laureates with access to Commonance Accelerator.
The programme is designed to help Laureates transform their contributions into enduring organisations, initiatives, and ventures. Its goal is to institutionalise impact, helping exceptional actions evolve into structures capable of creating long-term value for global progress.
Depending on the nature of the contribution, support may include venture creation, scaling social initiatives, organisational development, and advancing individual missions.

Adjudication
Recipients are selected based on the potential of their contributions to create meaningful impact within their respective fields and for humanity as a whole. Preference is to be given to recipients who demonstrate readiness to institutionalise their contributions.
From more than 500 valid nominations received each year, the Adjudication Panel identifies the most promising contributions and selects the recipients of The Civilization Award.
The Award Process
The International Civilization Award identifies contributions with exceptional potential for impact through a year-long selection process concluding in the final week of March. Evaluation considers the ethics, long-term impact, scalability, international relevance, and human significance of each nomination.
